SRINAGAR, Nov 5: High Court has directed Divisional Commissioner Kashmir to monitor the exercise being undertaken by the J&K Lakes and Waterways Development Authority and Srinagar Municipal Corporation for ensuring adherence to the permission issued for construction in tune with norms and laws governing the subject.
The Divisional Commissioner has also been directed to seek report from both the authorities about deviation of construction of residential houses/commercial complexes and ensure stopping of such constructions. Moreover, he has been asked to call meeting of all the concerned officers of J&K Lakes and Waterways Development Authority and Srinagar Municipal Corporation, for ensuring compliance of order by or before next date of hearing.
Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey further directed Principal Secretary to Government, Housing & Urban Development Department to update the status of compliance of order passed on 15.10.2019 whereby court had directed him to submit the list of permissions granted in the whole city of Srinagar.
High Court said that Commissioner/Secretary General Administration Department, has not submitted the status report regarding posting of honest, upright officers as members of Tribunal and directed that needful shall be done by or before next date of hearing.
