JAMMU, Mar 15: The residents of various localities including Jewan Nagar, Jawahar Nagar, Ajit Nagar and others today came forward to support the “genuine” demands of the residents of Raina Colony, who alleged that they have deliberately been denied of basic amenities.
The presidents of various Mohallas of the locality held an emergency meeting today morning to discuss their strategy if the administration fails to fulfil their demands.
The meet unanimously passed a resolution giving the Government an ultimatum of 15 days to start the developmental work in the area, failing which the residents will sit on an indefinite chain hunger strike.
“Providing the basic amenities to the residents is the duty of the administration, denial of which is the denial of basic human rights. The Government is responsible for the loss of life and property that is caused due to the lack of these basic amenities” said Manish Kumar, president of Raina Colony Residents Association.
