BILLAWAR, Apr 14: Senior Congress leader and Member Parliament from Guna, Jyotiraditya Scindia today criticized the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for befooling the people of country in the name of development.
“You may be able to fool some people some time, but you can’t fool all the people all the time”, Scindia told while addressing an election rally in support of Congress candidate from Kathua- Udhampur-Doda Parliamentary Constituency, Vikramaditya Singh at Billawar in district Kathua today.
Scindia said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited across the country only just to gather the votes of the people during the election times without any intention to solve their problems.
Coming down heavily on BJP, Scindia said BJP projects PM Modi everywhere in the country that the Member Parliaments of Congress did nothing for the people. He asked BJP MP as how many times he raised the issue of Kathua-Udhampur-Doda in the Lok Sabha.
Jyotiraditya Scindia slammed BJP for exploiting the sentiments of people for the electoral gains and doing nothing on ground for the people of the country including farmers, businessmen, border dwellers and the women. He said that Modi’s demonetization, GST and Kashmir policy has drawn flak from every quarter of the country and that is why the team BJP including Dr Jitendra Singh are avoiding to name any of these issues in their failed election campaign. The Congress leader appealed to people that they should give a befitting reply to the BJP’s failed policies by voting in large numbers for the Congress.
Lambasting the PM Modi over his attack on the Congress, Scindia asserted that Congress party’s contribution in the progress of country since independence is well known to every citizen of the country and there is no need of BJP to certify the same.
Reacting sharply to Modi’s allegation that Congress has ruined the nation, Scindia said, “It was only the Congress party and its leaders like Pt Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajeev Gandhi, etc who ensured steady progress and colossal development in the country to make India so strong. He said that Congress has made India that much strong that it has withstood the prevalent chaotic situation in the country.
Congress Lok Sabha candidate, Vikramaditya Singh while taking a jibe at Dr Jitendra Singh’s alienation towards Udhampur constituency, said that the Union Minister always visited Billawar on a chopper and he is not at all aware of the villages, people and their issues. He said that the ‘flying candidate’ of the constituency can never know the problems the people are facing at ground.
