KATHUA, Apr 16: Addressing a series of election meetings here today, followed by a mammoth road show passing through the major markets and bazars of the city before concluding his election campaign, Union Minister and BJP Lok Sabha candidate from Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Parliamentary constituency, Dr Jitendra Singh said here today that Congress, its allies and all those political parties and leaders who have ganged up against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, are feeling so insecure that they have resorted to “anti-national and anti-India” jargon, but cautioned that Modi will never allow Congress to divide India.
Amidst repeated chanting of “Modi, Modi” and slogans of “Dr Jitendra Singh Aage Badho, Hum Tumhare Saath Hain”, Dr Jitendra Singh said, the election this time is no longer confined only to the casting of votes for electing an MP, but it is going to be a decisive battle to decide what kind of India do we wish to leave for our children to inherit, an India where “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” is sacrosanct to its citizens or an India where those saying “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Bharat Tere Tukde Tukde” are going to rule the roost.
Dr Jitendra Singh said that the basic difference between the Congress and BJP is that having been thrown out of power for just five years, the Congress Party so rattled that it has resorted to anti-India and anti-Army rhetoric, and has sought alliance with Parties like National Conference, which advocate pre-1953 position for Jammu & Kashmir and a separate Prime Minister, while the BJP, even when not in power for over 50 years after independence, never compromised on its commitment to the sovereignty and integrity of India or its supreme regard for the Indian Army. He recalled how during the 1971 war, the then Atal Behari Vajpayee had hailed the role of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and publicly offered Bharatiya Jana Sangh’s support to the then Congress Government in the war against Pakistan.
Making a fervent appeal to vote for Bharatiya Janata Party by pressing the symbol of “lotus” on April 18, Dr Jitendra Singh said, each and every vote cast for BJP will be a vote to reiterate their resolve of “Nation first” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” as well as a vote for development which has brought about a revolutionary transformation in the Udhampur-Kathua-Doda region in the last five years.
Referring to unique enthusiasm being witnessed among the women voters and first time voters, Dr Jitendra Singh said, when the result is out on May 23, his prophecy will come true that even the family members and spouses of Congress leaders are this time going to vote for Modi and BJP.
