Srinagar, Apr 16: National Conference candidate from Anantnag constituency and retired Justice, Hasnain Masoodi, today escaped bid on his life when militants fired a rifle grenade at the residence of a local NC leader in Tral area of South Kashmir where he had called a meeting as part of election campaign.
Militants today hurled a grenade at the residence of a National Conference leader in Tral town in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district soon after Masoodi arrived. As Masoodi went inside the house, a grenade fired from Under barrel Gun exploded with a big bang outside the residence of the NC leader.
There was no damage due to the grenade explosion. Security forces have launched searches to nab the attackers.
The grenade caused panic and the meeting was disrupted. Senior police and security officials reached the spot.
