JAMMU, Feb 1: The OBC Department of J&K Congress Committee has alleged that Modi Govt has violated the constitutional rights of the OBC community in J&K UT.
Talking to media-persons here today, Suresh Kumar Dogra, Chairman OBC Cell of the Congress Party referred to the rationalization of Reservation Policy framed by Modi led Govt for Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and alleged that this Govt has violated the legal and constitutional rights of Other Backward Classes. He alleged that OBC people have been befooled by Modi led Central Govt.
Dogra further said that the OBC status and the Mandal Commission report which guarantees 27% reservation and extension of National Commission for Backward Classes were totally ignored, which is the provision of UT. After the abrogation of Article 370 and formation of UT, the Centre Govt has implemented all national laws in the newly carved UT of Jammu and Kashmir but it is very unfortunate that the national laws for the OBCs were not implemented. The said community which was continuously fighting for their legal and constitutional rights for last three decades, expected that their due demands would be fulfilled in the UT but again got disappointed by the rationalization of Reservation Policy of the ruling party.
Dogra said the BJP party which is popular for the party of capitalists never remained in the favour of down trodden population of India, again befooled the under privileged and innocent class on the name of this reservation policy. He said OBC Cell of Congress demands complete OBC status in the J&K UT. He also demanded that Chairman and Members in the SCBC must be from the same community.
Dogra warned the Centre Govt and UT Administration if the said demands of the OBC communities not be fulfilled, they will be compelled to launch protest demonstrations against the ruling party and the UT administration.
The others who accompanied included Parshotam Lal Mehra- vice chairman, Prabodh Jasyal-vice chairman, Abhisheik Kumar, Gurpreet Dogra, Aditya Dogra, Raj Kumar-Distt president and Som Nath Verma.
