Modi govt has failed to protect this country: Shinde

NEW DELHI, Jan 6:  In a strong attack on the Narendra Modi government on the Pathankot  terror attack, senior Congress leader and former Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde today said the  government has failed to protect this country.
Addressing reporters here, Mr Shinde said that the response of the government  to the terror attack had been inadequate.
”We are not aware of any meetings of the Cabinet Committee on Security. The Cabinet Committee on Security takes decisions in times of conflict. Till our coordination is not in place we won’t be able to handle such attacks.
”The Modi government has failed to protect this country. If this government continues like this, then instead of ‘achhe din’, it looks like we may lose our country to terrorists,” Mr Shinde said.
Slamming Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his visit to Lahore, Mr Shinde said, ”Why did the PM visit Pakistan without any prior information.
”What did Modi ji discuss in Pakistan ? Were there any press releases ? We are in dark about what they discussed,” he said.
Reminding Mr Modi of his statements after the 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attack, Mr Shinde said, ”We all know Modi ji’s view on 26/11 attacks and his demands at that time.
Modi ji used to say that UPA ministers are serving Biryani to Pak.  What happened now ?  He himself went to meet Mr Nawaz Sharif.” (UNI)
