Modi Govt failed to solve problems of displaced Pandits: JTC

JAMMU, Dec 1: A joint meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC), Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) and J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Migrant Cell was held at Jagti township today under the chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandita, president JTC, SKF and co -convener, PCC Migrant Cell.
Addressing the meeting Shadi Lal Pandita expressed his grave concern over neglecting Kashmiri Pandit community by BJP Government at Centre led by Narendra Modi. Pandita said since BJP came to power in 2014 nothing has been done for displaced KP community, while during Congress rule the then Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh announced 6000 jobs for displaced KPs. He said still 3000 posts are lying unfilled out of them. He said Congress Government ensured accommodation to migrants by constructing Jagti township, quarters at Muthi, Purkhoo and Nagrota besides various places in Valley.
He said Congress Government assured construction of two room sets for migrant employees in Valley while the BJP Government has now proposed one room sets for migrant employees in Valley. Pandita accused BJP Government of its failure in enhancing cash relief in favour of migrants and demanded enhancement of relief to Rs 25,000 per family per month.
