JAMMU, June 16: Modi Government in its over seven years in office have transformed the lives of women in the country by protecting their social and political rights besides ensuring them financial security, judicial strength and other rights at par with men.
This was stated by the senior BJP leader and former Minister, Priya Sethi while interacting with a delegation of women pensioners who met her to express their gratitude for the sincere endeavours made by the dynamic leader of the party in granting them the facility of pension.
The BJP leader said that the basic principle of women’s empowerment is that there should be no bias based on gender which the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has ensured to a large extent. She highlighted the role played by the PM Modi in upliftment of Muslim women by way of reforms made by the BJP Government.
She said that conventional norms are changing rapidly as women have been made aware of their basic and social rights by the policies undertaken by the BJP Government. “Empowered women can make their own decisions for their individual benefits as well as for the society. The essence of women empowerment is substituting patriarchy with parity”, she said adding that under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, the Central dispensation has given special attention to women empowerment as they play a significant role in the nation’s progress and in return the Government has started recognizing their contributions and potential.
She said that Government has taken a number of steps to strengthen the cause of women’s empowerment. “From Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao to improved health and education facilities and a range of initiatives to improve both their lives and their long-term prospects, the Government’s actions have touched a chord with the nation’s women”, she maintained adding that the BJP Government has come up with number of public welfare schemes including Ujjwala Yojana, Kaushal Vikas Yojana, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Startup India, Make in India, Bima Yojana, Beti Bachao-Beti Padao, Smart City, Pahal and many others for the benefit of all sections of the society.
