Modi fulfilled demands of Gorkhas neglected by Cong-NC: Kavinder

JAMMU, Apr 13: Former Deputy CM and senior BJP leader, Kavinder Gupta, in a meeting at Gorkha Nagar highlighted the achievements of Modi Government, which ensured Justice and welfare of the people of every weak and neglected society.  He emphasised the dedicated efforts of the Modi Government towards the development of Jammu and Kashmir following the revocation of Article 370. Kavinder Gupta spoke while addressing a meeting organised by BJP OBC Morcha at Gorkhanagar, Jammu.
Kavinder Gupta on this occasion described that the people of Gorkha Samaj, who were denied residentship, thus rendered them ineligible for Government jobs and voting rights by the previous Congress-NC Governments, have been granted residentship and also granted reservation under OBC category,  which is a big relief for the Gorkha Samaj in J&K, Gupta said. He assured the Gorkha Samaj that Modi Government will also take possible steps to regularise the Gorkha colony in the name of inhabitants as per prevailing rules.
Sunil Prajapati, president BJP OBC Morcha, J&K UT at this occasion spoke that Modi Government has paid great attention towards the sections of societies who were neglected by the previous Governments.  He described that under the mission Sabka Saath, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Vikas, Modi Government has granted reservation to the socially and educationally backward sections of the societies including Gorkhas amongst others under OBC Category.
The other castes which have been granted OBC reservation are the Jat community, Saini community, West Pakistani refugees, Swarnkars among the newly added 15 OBC castes.  The OBCs have also been provided reservation in the Municipalities and Panchayat elections.
Prominent among others were present are Vikram Randhawa (former MLC), Rekha Mahajan (district president Jammu South), Anu Radha Charak (vice president), Rajeev Charak (senior BJP Leader), Braham Jyot Satti (Prabhari OBC Morcha),  Lucky Puri (Mandal president), Shardha Devi (former corporator), Anil Balgotra (secretary OBC Morcha), Vivek Patyal, Sunny Sangotra , Subash Chander, Ajay Kumar and other BJP workers.
