Modi abuses opponents: Chidambaram

NEW DELHI, May 11: Accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of spreading lies in the public, senior Congress leader P Chidambaram on Saturday said that Mr Modi indulged himself in abusing opponents.
In a series of tweets, the former finance minister said the Prime Minister will not talk about economy and what he had promised about “good days”.
“Add to the depressing list another fact: that manufacturing growth turned negative in February 2019 and remained negative in March. Mr Modi has 5 more days to talk about the economy and the achhe din that he had promised. My guess is he will not,” Mr Chidambaram said in a tweet..
“Mr Modi will spread lies and abuse his opponents. He will not talk about jobs or farmers’ distress or security of women, Dalits and minorities or about any other vital issue that concerns the people,” the former Finance Minister added.
His comment came just a day before the sixth phase of ensuing Lok Sabha elections. (UNI)
