Sir,
It is appalling that a country like India is laging far behind in latest defence machinery in the armed forces. Security of a nation depends upon the weapons it possess. Our brave soldiers are struggling on the border using old weaponry and fighting an enemy who is using latest weapons. Similar is the case of air defence. We are still using MiG, Jets etc whereas many of MiG fighters are seen crashing on test flights and India has lost many planes in the recent past.
Similarly in navy too, there are not sufficient submarines as compared to other modern countries. India is possessing 3rd grade equipments with which the navy is fighting. It is reported that not a single marine joined the navy for the last 12 years. The retired top navy officers are questioning Government and holding political establishment responsible for aging fleet in navy. Recently as seen in INS. Sindhuratna submarine mishap, we are submarine deficient. It becomes the duty of defence ministry to update machinery in order to secure the country.
Yours etc…..
