JAMMU, Feb 8: After IIT Jammu, Multi National Companies (MNCs) can now interview NIT Srinagar students at IIT Delhi as well, as a Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) has been signed today between NIT Srinagar and IIT Delhi.
The MoU was inked by Director, IIT Delhi Prof Ramagopal and Director, NIT Srinagar, Prof Rakesh Sehgal, at IIT Delhi, in the presence of senior faculty of IIT Delhi and a galaxy of NIT Srinagar Alumni headed by the vice president, Deepak Bhasin and the office bearers of the Alumni Association.
With the MoU in place, the IIT Delhi and NIT Srinagar, the two prestigious institutes have agreed to co-operate in the academic areas of national interest, exchange information on teaching and learning material, jointly organize seminars, conference, workshops and engage in research and training programmes sponsored by funding agencies.
The MoU also provides for inviting each other’s faculty, staff, students and alumni to participate in each other’s activities and jointly guide research scholars registered for doctoral and PG programmes in achieving their goals. In addition to this, the students of NIT Srinagar would now be in a position to use the infrastructure and facilities available at IIT Delhi for job interviews and placements.
On the occasion, NIT Srinagar Alumni, Deepak Bhasin, revealed that former students of NIT Srinagar around the globe have been visiting the institute to share soft skills based on their experiences and deliver talks on the their technical knowledge. He said the idea behind this is to expose students beyond the curriculum so as to enable them to develop new skills and boost their confidence.
