JAMMU, Feb 23: Many members of the Upper House of the State Legislature today alleged that Babus were violating Warrant of Precedence/protocol and pleaded the Chairman of the House to come to their rescue and issue directions in this regard.
The issue was raised during Question Hour by Congress member Mohammed Muzaffar Parray in the Legislative Council today. He said not only protocol, they were being over looked while providing amenities and other facilities as per Warrant of Precedence and their status. He said even at Kashmir House in Delhi they are left to face humiliation at the hands of Babus there while many juniors are given preference. This violation of protocol be viewed seriously.
Upon this several members including Sayed Rafiq Shah, Jahangir Mir, Ghulam Rasool and others asked the Chairman to issue directions in this regard. The Chairman then directed the Government to issue directions to all the officers and issue fresh directive through GAD asking officers to adhere to the order regarding warrant of precedence.
Earlier, replying the Minister of State for Hospitality and Protocol Vikar Rasool said that his department has issued Warrant of Precedence, Preference, Protocol, Procedure and Amenities to the Legislators and other dignitaries. The department has always been adhering to the aforementioned warrant in letter and spirit while making arrangements for them including Republic / Independence Day functions. The circular instructions in this regard stand conveyed to the subordinate officers of other departments.
