JAMMU, Apr 24: Firdous Ahmad Tak, Member, Legislative Council, called on N.N. Vohra, Governor, here at the Raj Bhavan today.
Mr. Tak apprised the Governor about problems being faced by the people due to repeated earthquake tremors, floods, incessant rains and landslides in the Chenab Valley and the rapidly deteriorating condition of the Batote-Kishtwar National Highway.
He requested the Governor’s intervention in immediate redressal of the serious difficulties arising from natural and man-made factors.
The Governor assured Mr. Tak that his demands would receive due consideration.
Prakash Misra, DGP, CRPF also called on Governor.
DGP briefed the Governor about the obtaining security situation and the arrangements being made for the smooth conduct of the forthcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra.
Mr. Misra also informed the Governor about the steps being taken to further tighten the security arrangements for the Shri Vaishno Devi Yatra.
The Governor has asked DG CRPF to participate in the Shri Amaranthji Security Review Meeting which is being held at Srinagar on May 14.
