JAMMU, Dec 8: MLC Surender Choudhary called on Governor Satya Pal Malik at Raj Bhavan here today.
Surender Choudhary apprised the Governor about various significant issues relating to Nowshera area. He discussed, with Governor, the issue of special recruitment drive in border areas especially in Nowshera Constituency and disbursement of compensation to the cross-border firing affectees.
Governor urged Surender Choudhary to continue his sustained endeavours towards public welfare and development of his respective area.
A delegation of J&K Pensioners Welfare Federation Senior Citizen Civil Society (J&K PWFSCCS) led by its President Sampath Parkash also met with Governor.
The delegation requested Governor for enhancing the medical allowance; bring uniform rate of monthly premium of new insurance scheme; under cashless scheme, the patients should be treated beyond the end of December 2018 in all the empanelled health institutions; number of hospitals empanelled under the cashless scheme should be increased and the scheme should be continued for five years on the same pattern without involving any insurance company.
Governor observed that due consideration would be given to their demands.
Former Chairperson, J&K State Social Welfare Advisory Board (JKSSWB) Prof Nirmal Gupta also called on Governor.
Prof. Gupta discussed, with the Governor, the issues pertaining to the condition of specially-abled, destitute, widows, senior citizens and infirm in the State and the steps to be taken for the welfare of these sections of the Society.
The Governor observed that the issues highlighted by her would be given due consideration.
