JAMMU, Feb 1: Vibodh Gupta, MLC met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Gupta expressed gratitude to Governor for granting 3 % reservation to Paharis and apprised him about plight of displaced PoJK families settled outside the State and requested for treating them at par with PoJK refugees settled in the State; demanded new Degree Colleges for Taryath, Darhal, Dangri and Manjakote in Rajouri; promotion of tourism in the area; regularisation of coal mine workers of Kalakote; restoration of helicopter services for Rajouri; Rajouri Municipal Committee be upgraded to Municipal Council and various other issues of public importance.
Governor urged Gupta to work devotedly for public welfare and development of his area.
Rakesh Mahajan, BJP State Secretary and Ashok Khajuria, BJP Spokesperson were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, a delegation of J&K State Joint Action Committee of Graduate Engineering Associations led by its President Er. Firdous Ahad Bhat, met Governor.
The members of the delegation apprised Governor regarding prolonged stagnation in the engineering departments and requested for early issuance of an SRO for the “Assured Career Progression Scheme” for engineers which already stands approved by the Government.
