JAMMU, Mar 26: Speaker Mubarak Gul today said that Assembly Secretariat was mulling a proposal to send replies to queries of the MLAs’ through internet, a pattern being followed in Parliament.
Replying to concern expressed by PDF MLA and former Minister Hakim Mohammad Yasin and Congress MLA and former Minister Ghulam Mohammad Saroori over neglect of Urdu by Revenue Department and Assembly Secretariat, Mr Gul said he would see why replies of MLAs’ questions were not being given in Urdu.
“I would examine the issue after the Assembly session”, he said, adding the Assembly Secretariat has also recently discussed the proposal to furnish replies to the MLAs on their queries through internet in both Urdu and English.
He added that PAs of the MLAs would be given training of internet before starting the practice of giving replies through the internet. He said the Parliament has also switched over to e-replies. NPP MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia demanded that the replies of questions raised by the MLAs should also be given in Hindi.
