JAMMU, Feb 13: PDP MLAs Abdul Rehman Veeri and Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjoora have demanded that elaborate arrangements be made for the Maha Shivratri.
In their separate statements Veeri and Hanjoora have made an appeal to State Governor, N N Vohra to issue directives to the administration in maintaining proper check on market and ensure supply of all essential commodities including ration, sugar, vegetables, walnuts and other items on controlled rates. They demanded that extra quota of sugar be released on the occasion of Maha Shivratri.
They also demanded that the Government should ensure uninterrupted power supply on Maha Shivratri days falling on February 16 and 17 respectively and special arrangements be made in migrant camps and other non camp areas. The water supply should be also maintained on both the days especially during evening time.
Meanwhile Hanjoora visited various migrant colonies today to see the arrangements. He interacted with the community members there. He was accompanied by S K Raina, a PDP Trade Union leader.
