MLAs, GOC, KAS officers call on Governor

Srinagar, Sept 27: Javed Ahmed Rana, MLA Mendhar, met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here today and apprised him about the developmental issues of his constituency and hardships being faced by people due to frequent cross LoC firing.
Governor urged Rana to continue his sustained endeavours for promoting public welfare.
Er. Rasheed, MLA Langate also called on Governor and apprised him about various issues of public importance and initiatives required for restoration of peace and normalcy in the State.
Governor appreciated Rasheed’s endeavours and urged him to focus on promoting the interests of people particularly the youth by providing them ample opportunities for participating in sports and extracurricular activities.
Lt. Gen. A.K. Bhat, GOC 15 Corps also met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan and briefed him about issues relating to the security situation in the Valley and security arrangements made for the upcoming polls to Urban Local Bodies and Panchayats.
Governor stressed the importance of maintaining a sustained coordination between the Security Forces and the Civil Administration to meet the security challenges in the State.
Meanwhile, a delegation of office bearers of KAS Association led by its President Tassaduq Hussain Mir, met Governor and apprised him about various issues relating to the KAS Cadre and thanked him for release of Non Functional Selection and Special Scales in favour of KAS Officers.
Governor urged the officers to work with dedication for public welfare and urged them to ensure accountability and transparency while discharge of their duties.
