JAMMU: Independent MLA from Udhampur Pawan Gupta on Monday staged walkout of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly on ‘non-functional’ trauma centre in his constituency.
The MLA raised the issue in the House and said the government is not portraying clear picture on trauma centre.
He added that every time in the reply, the government claimed that the trauma centre in Udhampur is complete but it is not the fact.
Mr Gupta however, staged walkout of the House.
Later speaking to the reporters outside the House, the Legislator said, “there is no medical or para-medical staff. Trauma centre is incomplete.”
“Last month seven people had died and I personally shifted four injured people to the Command hospital because of poor facilities at the trauma centre,” said the MLA.
In Assembly questions, government always reply that trauma centre is complete, which is a “white lie”, he added.
“The concerned minister is involved in “Breach of Privilege” by framing false picture,” said the MLA.
“There is no facility in the Centre and it is lying defunct,” he added and said, “in protest I have staged walkout.” Mr Gupta was former MoS Finance in late chief minister Mufti Sayeed headed Government. (AGENCIES)
