UDHAMPUR, Oct 30: MLA Udhampur, Balwant Singh Mankotia, today laid foundation stone of 8.525 Km Ossu to Dhargadian road being constructed with a cost of Rs. 474.65 lakh under PMGSY.
The road would benefit over 700 souls belonging to Schedule Tribe community of the adjoining villages.
Complementing the people of the area for having fullfiled their long pending demand delayed due to forest clearance, Mr. Mankotia said that the facility of road in this area would uplift the socio economic status of the people of the area.
The people of Dhargadian village put forth various demands including upgradation of Middle School, dispersal of land compensation of Kotli- Dhargadian road, water facility to under covered morhas of village Ossu and other issues.
Mankotia asked the officers of PHE to prepare a Detail Project Report for providing drinking water facility to uncovered morhas of village Ossu. During his visit, the MLA inspected Kera-Pakhali road being constructed under NABARD and issues instructions to the concerned engineers for accelerating the pace of progress on the road so that it would be completed in a stipulated time frame.
Among others, officers of PMGSY, PDD, PHE, Rural Development Department, NABARD and large number of people were present on the occasion.
