MLA Kishtwar inaugurates 5 training centres

KISHTWAR, Jan 1: To make women self sufficient and self reliant especially living in rural and remote areas for their socio-economic upliftment, Department of Social Welfare has established five training centres in five villages Kawar, Cherji, Padhyarna, Pollar and Chicha of Nagseni Block in Kishtwar district.
MLA Kishtwar Sajad Ahamad Kichloo inaugurated the centres.
Addressing the public at these villages, Mr. Kichloo said that this was exclusively a women specific programme launched by the Government to make them self-dependent. Stating that this was a step towards the empowerment of the women of the Scheduled Tribe category, he asked the people to come forward for getting the benefits of such welfare schemes. He said that with the establishment of these training centers the female candidates of the ST category shall not only get training but also be given stipend besides employment to the trained candidates who shall work as trainers. He further asked the Sarpanchs and Panchs to work for the welfare of the weaker sections.
District Social Welfare Officer, Prem Singh Chib gave a detailed account of various schemes and the purpose of such vocational courses like training in the cutting and tailoring and knitting.
The sarpanches of the Panchayats, Kwar, Bhagna, Cherji, Chicha, Bhatan Dimji, and panches also attended the function.
