MLA Katra stresses for collective efforts to eliminate drug abuse

KATRA, Apr 26: MLA Baldev Raj Sharma, representing Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Constituency here today conducted an extensive tour of Panchayat Sersundwan.
During tour, the MLA addressed a large public gathering at village Bladda under the ‘100 Days Campaign’ of Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan, launched by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
The MLA also inspected the proposed site for playground and issued directions to the RDD Department to immediately prepare estimates for ground-levelling and construction of a retaining wall so that work can be initiated at the earliest.
Addressing the gathering, Sharma stressed the urgent need for collective efforts to eliminate drug abuse and called upon the youth to actively participate in building a healthy, disciplined and addiction-free society.
He sanctioned a total financial allocation of Rs. 50 lakh for the construction of a playground at Ward No. 5, village Bladda, Rs. 25 lakhs from the CD Panchayat Plan 2026-27 and an additional Rs. 25 lakh from other grants.
Among those present on the occasion were officials from RDD including JE, BDC Bhomag, Ashok Thakur, BDC Katra, Sham Bhagat, Lamberdar, Romesh Bhagat, Sanjay Singh, youth president and a large number of prominent citizens and local residents.
