KATHUA, Aug 19: MLA Kathua Rajiv Jasrotia has said an effective monitoring mechanism has been put in place to enforce accountability and transparency in the implementation of the developmental schemes adding that need for public involvement in the developmental activities is vital and without their cooperation targeted concrete results on ground could not be achieved.
This was stated by the MLA after inaugurating widening of road from Barnoti to Budhi at the cost of 2.5 crore and lanes and drains at Village Palli, Budhi, Mearth and Nannan at the cost of 20 lakh in presence of  Sarpanch Budhi Shiv Ram, Sarp Mearth Mohan Lal, Sarp Nanan Shashi Balla, Sarp Pandraad Kumar Manglam, Vicky, Jagdish Poonia besides prominent workers of BJP.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA said development of every sections of the society is the priority of Coalition Government adding that numbers of development works are being executed in the PHE, PDD, R&B, and healthcare and education sectors in the State for facilitating the people.
Responding to the people’s demands, the MLA  assured the people that all their demands related to safe drinking water, installation of poles, regular power supply in metered areas and up-gradation of transformer, blacktopping of roads would be addressed in a time bound manner.
MLA said that the main focus of the Government is to develop every corner of the State with modern lines, for which liberal funding has been provided by the Central Government to the State Government.
Later, the people of the areas apprised the MLA about their grievances and demands which mainly included un-interrupted power supply, up-gradation of lanes and drains in left out localities, provision of safe drinking water, benefits under various State and centre sponsored schemes like BPL, Pension Schemes, Widow Pension Scheme, etc.
