MLA Kangan, VC SMVDU meet Governor

JAMMU, Feb 21: Mian Altaf Ahmad, Member J&K Legislative Assembly from Kangan, called on Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan.
Governor and Mian Altaf held extensive discussions regarding the obtaining challenges facing the State and the various major developmental issues which require high priority attention, particularly road connectivity and power generation.
Governor and Mian Altaf also discussed issues relating to arrangements for the conduct of Shri Amarnathji Yatra-2018, in the context of the projected construction of the approach road to the Western Portal of the Zojila tunnel.
Governor appreciated Mian Altaf’s concerns and urged him to continue sustained efforts for promoting harmony and people’s welfare in his area.
Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University also called on Governor and briefed him about several important academic and administrative matters relating to the University’s functioning.
Governor discussed with Prof. Jain certain issues relating to the forthcoming admissions at various levels and the need to secure induction of students in the highest performance brackets. Governor also reviewed the ongoing preparations for the projected Convocation of the University.
