RAMBAN, Feb 8: Member Legislative Assembly (MLA), Neelam Kumar Langeh distributed LPG connections under “Ujjwala Yojana” scheme at Assar, today.
As many as 100 connections have been provided to the beneficiaries.
On the occasion, SDPO and SHO Assar besides prominent citizens and general public were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA said that providing LPG connections to BPL households will ensure universal coverage of cooking gas in the country. This measure will empower women and protect their health, he said, adding that it will reduce drudgery and the time spent on cooking.
He advised women to use it properly for making their life convenient and avoiding any untoward incident.
Neelam asked woman of the BPL household, which does not have access to LPG connection, may apply for a new LPG connection (in the prescribed format) to the LPG distributor. While submitting the application form, the woman will have to submit details, like address, Jandhan Bank Account and Aadhar number.
He asked the people to come forward to avail the benefits of welfare scheme initiated by the Government for overall development of downtrodden people.
