UDHAMPUR, May 12: District Administration, Udhampur, convened a public meeting cum grievance redressal camp at remote Gharrian Panchayat to review developmental works and participatory planning as a part of outreach programme, and hear grievances of general public.
MLA Chenani Dina Nath Bhagat, District Development Commissioner Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Asstt Commissioner Development Joginder Singh Rai, SDM Chenani Devinder Sharma and other officers discussed a number of developmental projects, flagship programmes, Centrally sponsored schemed and convergence plan apart from key infrastructural developments.
A 65 Ft span Mountain Bridge constructed under Project Rahat was also inspected by the MLA and DDC which will benefit more than 350 students of 4 schools and provide connectivity to a population of 1400 in two village. The bridge was a long pending demand as both the villages remained disconnected during rains and 2 persons were killed while crossing the nallah.
Public demands related to power supply , water supply, irrigation, school upgradation, agriculture, animal husbandry, health, education and other vital sectors were also discussed.
MLA Dina Nath Bhagat informed that Rs 50 lakh have been provided under CDF for power supply and more than 6 stations of 25KVA are being established in the area. The decisions taken included opening of ration outlet at Kalasar, culvert over irrigation canal, construction of PMGSY road, blacktopping of 7KM stretch on Chenani-Pattangarh Road, tractor road, completion of NABARD building in Middle School Gharian, new building for PS Karalsar.
DDC Dr Shahid in his address responded to the demands and fixed timelines to be adhered to various departments for completion of works and meeting demands of general public. He reviewed the developments in village level planning and coordination between departments for holistic development of villages. A number of works were also inspected.
