UDHAMPUR, Nov 15: Member Legislative Assembly Chenani, Dina Nath Bhagat today kick-started the black-topping work of road in the Pancheri area of Chenani constituency. The black-topping of 2- kilometre road stretch from Main Bazar Pancheri to Forest Rest House has been taken up by the Roads & Building Department at an estimated cost of Rs. 65 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said that with the black-topping of this road, the long pending demand of the locals has been met. He said that the development of hilly and far-off areas is the top priority of the Government and up-gradation of road communication is being given focus attention. He said that the Government has formulated comprehensive plan for strengthening road network across the State, adding that work on up-gradation and blacktopping of various road projects has been taken up by various executing agencies to provide the smooth motorable road to the people.
Bhagat said that several developmental initiatives have been taken up during the past three years and efforts are being made to connect all villages with the towns to ease the problems of the rural masses. He called upon the executing agencies to redouble their efforts to complete the on-going works at the earliest. He also issued instructions to the concerned to strictly adhere to the specifications and use quality material for longevity of assets.
