JAMMU, Nov 15: A delegation of All Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AMCCC) today called on Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Minister, Abdul Rehman Veeri and Minister of Horticulture, Basharat Bukhari here, today and highlighted the various problems of migrants before them.
The delegation sought intervention of Veeri in early distribution of cash assistance and ration to migrants. They said the migrants have been deprived of cash assistance of last month and the same was not released till date putting them to various problems.
The delegation was led by president AMCCC Desh Rattan and its other members were M L Munshi, K V, Sunil Suri and B L Koul.
The delegation also demanded that the compensation be paid to the migrants whose houses were damaged in Valley due to snow and rain over the years.
The delegation during its meeting with Basharat Bukhari, Minister of Horticulture demanded that those KP families who have their horticulture land in Valley needed to be compensated for the losses suffered by them near three decades of turmoil. They appealed him to issue directors to all CHOs of Valley to prepare the list of the migrant orchardists and pay compensation accordingly.
