JAMMU, May 15: A meeting of the Governing Body of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti of Government Hospital Sarwal was held under the chairmanship of Member Legislative Assembly (West) Sat Sharma at Government Hospital Sarwal, here today.
The meeting was attended by Medical Superintendent Government Hospital Sarwal, Dr. ADS Manhas besides members of Rogi Kalyan Samiti.
During the meeting, the MLA reviewed the functioning of the hospital besides took stock of the infrastructure available there.
Various issues were discussed in the meeting especially repair and renovation of existing old hospital complex. The MLA directed PWD division of Government Medical College Jammu to start repair/renovation, whitewash of old block and for this the MLA announced Rs. 5 lakh from his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and rest of the amount would be provided through Hospital Development Fund (HDF). He asked the concerned agencies to give priority to the quality while executing improvement/renovation works and asked the hospital management to fix priorities of repair, renovation and other construction works in the hospital.
Mr. Sharma also reviewed annual performance of the hospital and asked the concerned authorities to put in there sincere and dedicated efforts to provide better medicare to the ailing. He said that Sarwal hospital being a prime health institution needs to be developed/upgraded with latest infrastructural facilities.
The MLA assured the hospital administration that he will leave no stone unturned to fully equip this prestigious health institute with all modern facilities and upgraded infrastructure. He also went around various wards of the hospital and interacted with the patients and enquired about the facilities being provided to them.
Other issues like power and water supply, sanitation, post facto sanction of servicing of 38 ACs, repair of dental chairs, enhancement of wages of security guards, purchase of furniture/ computers, purchase of life saving drugs, laparoscopic instruments, surgical items, medicines etc were also discussed in the meeting.
