JAMMU, Dec 27: IPS Officer of 1996 Batch J&K Cadre MK Sinha took over the charge of Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu Zone today from outgoing IGP Dr SD Singh.
Prior to his posting as IGP Jammu Zone, the officer served in the Police Department in various capacities as SDPO Samba, SSP Border, Jammu, SSP Rajouri, SSP Vigilance Jammu, SSP Kathua, AIG T&I PHQ and thereafter proceeded on deputation to Government of India, where he worked in the Cabinet Secretariat.
On coming back to the J&K, Sinha worked as DIG Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban Range, DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range and then again proceeded on deputation to CBI, New Delhi where he was posted as Joint Director Anti Corruption Zone. He also did National Defence College course where he got the Gold Medal for best thesis.
A detailed briefing was given by the outgoing IGP Dr SD Singh to the incoming officer on emerging challenges on account of crime, militancy, law and order of entire Jammu Province.
Besides, an introductory meeting was also held with the officers and officials of ZPHQ Jammu.
