Mixed trend prevails in the foodgrain market

CHENNAI, Mar 31: The prices of thoor dal, urad dal, moong dal, gram dal and sugar moved up while maida and sooji moved down in the wholesale foodgrains market here today.
Thoor dal and urad dal rose by Rs 200 per quintal each to Rs 7,200 and Rs 7,400 from its previous closing rates of Rs 7,000 and Rs 7,200, respectively.
Likewise, moong dal and sugar went up by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 9,800 and Rs 3,150 from Rs 9,700 and Rs 3,050, respectively.
In addition, gram dal prices increased to Rs 3,950 from Rs 3,900.
In contrast, Maida (90 kg) and Sooji (90 kg) declined by Rs 50 and Rs 100 each to Rs 2,400 and Rs 2,500 from its previous closing rates of Rs 2,450 and Rs 2,600, respectively.
However, wheat ruled steady in the market.
