SRINAGAR, May 29: The main road from Mitrigam to Rahmoo in South Kashmir’s Pulwama is in dilapidated condition for the last several months resulting in immense trouble to the commuters.
The locals said that they have brought the issue to the notice of the officials, but to no avail. “They are in deep slumber and are not taking measures to repair the road which is in a bad shape,” said Latief Ahmad, a local
He said that while the road from Pulwama to Mitrigam falling under PMGSY has already been macadamized, Mitrigam to Rahmoo road falling under R&B Department is in utter bad shape.
“The R&B Department is in deep slumber, while under PMGSY road from Pulwama to Mitrigam has already been macadamized nobody is giving any attention to the Mitrigam to Rahmoo road,” said another local.
It is to be noted that the commuters passing through the road are facing several problems and are complaining that the concerned department is not taking due care of the road despite repeated appeals.
“Dilapidated condition of the road from Mitrigam to Rahmoo poses many challenges to the commuters. The road from Pulwama to Mitrigam is up to the mark as it has been macadamized properly. The road from Mitrigam to Rahmoo has been left as such with no attention,” the locals said.
As per locals, the concerned department has been stating that they were facing a shortage of funds to carry out the necessary repairs of the road.
The locals said that while the roads across Kashmir are being macadamized what is stopping the concerned department to take up the works on the Mitrigam to Rahmoo, adding that while the bad shape of the road results in immense trouble to them, it also consumes a lot of their time in trying to reach from Mitrigam to Rahmoo.
They appealed to the administration to initiate the necessary works without any further delay. “There already has been a lot of delays, now the administration must take it seriously and ease up our troubles,” they said.
