Mission Shakti organizes breast cancer awareness seminar at GDC Marh

JAMMU, Oct 29: In a proactive step towards promoting health consciousness among youth, Mission Shakti DHEW Jammu, Department of Social Welfare in collaboration with JK Medicity Hospital organized a highly impactful seminar on breast cancer awareness at Government Degree College (GDC) Marh.
Resource person Dr Vikas, Oncologist Surgeon from the JK Medicity Hospital sensitized the students about different types of cancers, their symptoms and preventive lifestyle measures. He emphasized the importance of regular screening, timely diagnosis and healthy habits in reducing cancer risks.
The interactive seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members .The audience was motivated to adopt a healthy lifestyle and spread awareness in their communities.
Speaking on the occasion, District Mission Coordinator Mission Shakti Shagun Manchanda highlighted that the organization remains committed to empowering women and communities through health education and awareness drives. She emphasized that awareness is the first step toward prevention and that informed individuals can act as catalysts for change.
She also expressed gratitude to Principal of GDC Marh Ramneek Kour for her cooperation in making the programme a success. The program concluded with an open interaction session, during which students asked insightful questions.
The program concluded with the vote of thanks by Associate Professor Dr Madhvi Parasher. Khushboo Kapte , Gender Specialist DHEW Jammu and staff of GDC Marh were also present during the seminar.
