JAMMU, Oct 29: Former Minister and general secretary J&K PCC, R.S Chib today said that the slogans of BJP to form Government in the State will remain a distant dream and no Government can be formed without Congress support.
Addressing Party workers meeting at Suchetgarh in R S Pura tehsil today, he said it is the Congress who have been champion of downtrodden and weaker sections of society and said that BJP was misleading on Mission 44+ to people.
The other prominent workers of Congress who addressed the meeting also criticized the anti people policies of BJP.
Mr Chib made special mention of plight of refugees from PoK (1947,1965 and 1971) for last many decades, when their demands had been neglected by all the parties. He elaborated that the package of their one time settlement was prepared only during the period of Ghulam Nabi Azad and now because of the efforts of the Congress leaders which include Ghulam Nabi Azad, Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz and other Congress Ministers, the same has been accepted by State Cabinet and forwarded to the Government of India for their acceptance.
Mr Chib also made mentioned about the introduction of 73rd Amendment in Panchayati Raj Act of the State due to the stand taken by Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz in the State Coordination Committee and also the efforts of the Congress Ministers in the cabinet. Mr Chib added that the coalition partner in the Government was not inclined to implement the applicability of 73rd and 74th Amendment.
Mr Chib, while referring to the development needs of the rural and border areas of the State made special reference about Suchetgarh Block which has been recently carved out of the R S Pura Block in order to ensure speedy development of the border areas.
Mr Chib asked all the workers to be prepared themselves for the coming Assembly elections and work for the success of the Congress candidates. He further said that it is the Congress Party which can assure equitable development of all the three regions of the State.
