Missing person’s body recovered from kitchen roof

MENDHAR, July 27: Police today recovered a dead body of a person who was reportedly missing since yesterday evening.
According to the reports, the victim identified as Mohd Aashiq (57), son of Mohd Fazal, resident of Kotan area, which is about 2 kilometres from Mendhar, was missing since yesterday evening after he had gone for cutting grass in the fields for animals.
At about 9 am this morning, his dead body having signs of electric shocks was found from the roof of the kitchen of his own house. Seeing the body, the family members informed the police.
A police party of Police Station Mendhar led by SHO Bishnesh Kumar and under the supervision of SDPO, Mendhar, Amit Bhasin visited the spot and shifted the body to sub district hospital Mendhar for post mortem.
Dr Pervez Ahmed Khan, who conducted the post mortem, cited the electric shocks as the reason of the victims’ death.
The victim’s son Moha Zamir told police that his father had some land dispute with one Mohd Sharif son of Ahmed Din, resident of Kota, eight days ago and he had threatened him (victim) of death. My father had made a written complaint in this regard to SSP Poonch, he added.
