Missing man traced; traffic checks tightened

JAMMU, Apr 25: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Jammu South Zone have stepped up its efforts to ensure public safety by tracing a missing person and intensifying traffic enforcement across several areas.
A police official said Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu traced a missing man, Vivek Kumar, son of Vikas Kumar, a resident of Ram Dassi Mohalla, Bagh-e-Bahu.
According to him, he had been reported missing on April 11 and was safely reunited with his family after police efforts.
Meanwhile, a special naka was set up by Police Post Greater Kailash on the Greater Kailash-Jallo Chak road.
During the drive, five vehicles were challaned. These included two for not wearing seat belts, one load carrier which was seized for wrong parking and incomplete documents, and two motorcycles – one without a number plate and another with its number plate concealed with tape.
Further enforcement actions were taken by other units in the South Zone. Police Station Channi executed one preventive action.
Police Station Gandhi Nagar seized one motorcycle and issued one challan under the Motor Vehicle Act. Police Station Gangyal seized two motorcycles and issued two challans, while Police Post Digiana issued three challans. Police Post Nehru Market seized a Scooty and challaned four more vehicles for MV Act violations. The drives were conducted under the supervision of SP City South, Ajay Sharma
Meanwhile, people have been urged to cooperate with the police and follow road safety norms.
