UDHAMPUR, Aug 16: In separate incidents, two persons committed suicide and another died under mysterious circumstances while a missing youth was found dead in Childi Nallah, here today.
A young man missing for the last three days, was found dead in Childi Nallah at Chenani, here today. The deceased was identified as Hardev Singh (31), son of Gyan Chand of village Chilldi. He was found dead in Chilldi Nallah under mysterious circumstances. The body was spotted by some locals, who informed the police, which rushed to the spot and shifted the dead body to SDH Chenani for the postmortem.
According to family members of the deceased, Hardev had left for Udhampur on August 13 and did not return home since then. Chenani Police has registered the case and started investigations in this regard.
Meanwhile, one Madan Lal (38) son of Sabju Ram of Billan Boli Udhampur committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at his residence. Even as the family members rushed him to District Hospital Udhampur, he did not respond to the treatment and died after some time.
Later, the body was sent for postmortem and after all the legal formalities, it was handed over to the family members for last rites. Cause of provocation behind the extreme step could not be ascertained while police has registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
In another case of apparent suicide, a labourer namely Bhushan Kumar (33), son of Khem Raj of village Latyar in Panchari Tehsil, was found hanging from a tree in forest area near his house, here last evening. On being informed, Panchari police shifted the dead body to PHC Panchari. This morning, the postmortem was conducted and the body was handed over to family members for last rites. Panchari police has registered the case and further investigation is going on.
A police spokesman said that one Rashpal (24), son of Raju, resident of village Incha, died under mysterious circumstances. He was brought at Sub District Hospital Ramnagar in a serious condition by his family members. However, doctors declared him as brought dead.
Even as it appeared to be a case of suicide, Ramnagar police has started inquest proceeding in this connection under the section 174 IPC.
