Missing BSF jawan returns

JAMMU, Oct 15: A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan Surjit Singh, who was missing under mysterious circumstances from forward post of Rectar 2 in Keri sector on the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district, returned the post at 10 pm tonight.
SSP Rajouri Mubassir Latifi confirmed that the BSF jawan has reported back to his post at 10 pm tonight.
He said the BSF had lodged a missing report of the jawan with Chingus Police Post under the jurisdiction of Rajouri police station this morning. He added that the BSF Adjutant informed him late tonight that the BSF jawan had reported back at his forward post at 10 pm.
Mr Latifi said the BSF jawan would be questioned tomorrow morning to ascertain where he remained during the period of missing.
BSF jawan Surjit Singh of Bulandshahar of Uttar Pradesh was posted at Rectar 2 post in forward area of Keri sector when he went missing on the intervening night of October 13 and 14.
Army and BSF had conducted searches throughout the day today for the jawan on the LoC but failed to trace him. However, the jawan himself returned to the Post tonight.
