Missing boy’s body recovered from ‘nallah’

POONCH, July 24: Mystery shrouds the death of a young boy whose dead body was found lying at the bank of a ‘nallah’ in Sheen Dhara area of district Poonch today.
The deceased has been identified as 19-year-old Mohd Taj, son of Mohd Sharief, resident of Sheen Dhara village, under Poonch police jurisdiction. The police said the parents of the boy had lodged a missing report on July 22. It was also told by the parents that after a minor altercation over a petty issue, the boy in anger left home and did not return.
After he did not return, all the family members got worried and started his search. He could not be traced anywhere and later missing report was registered with concerned police.
Today morning, a villager noticed the boy lying at the bank of a nallah about 500 meter away from the village and informed the family. The family members and people of the area rushed there. The matter was brought to the notice of Poonch police. SHO Poonch, Sanjeev Slathia who rushed to the spot got the body shifted to Poonch hospital for postmortem and later handed over to the family.
A case under Section 174 CrPC was registered in this connection. It was believed that boy had been washed away in nallah. Further investigation was in progress.
