JAMMU, Feb 15: BJP State general secretary and former Mayor JMC Kavinder Gupta today alleged that miseries of the people have increased manifold in the last four years of misrule of Congress-NC Coalition Government.
Addressing a press conference at Party Office here today along with State spokesperson Dr. Nirmal Kamal and State press secretary Balbir Ram Rattan, Mr Gupta said that mis- governance and corruption during the last four year rule of Omar Abdullah led Government has added to the miseries of the people.
Accusing the State Government of adopting anti people policies, Mr Gupta said that many land scams have surfaced during this Government. Besides multi-corruption scams in JKCA, NRHM and Rural Electrification are being side tracked and there is no end to the discrimination with Jammu & Ladakh regions, he added.
He also highlighted the issues power crisis, scarcity of ration, LPG, kerosene, lack of health-care facilities, continuous price rise and said roads having become killers causing loss of lives every now and then.
Mr Gupta said soaring unemployment with thousands of posts in the Government are unfilled and the new recruitment policy has proven highly discriminatory resulting in the desperation of the youth of the State. Panchayat elections without 73rd and 74th Constitutional Amendments has culminated in the frustration of the Panchs and Sarpanchs and made the exercise futile.
He said delay in the elections of Urban Local Bodies, the Block Development Councils and District Planning and Development Boards has snuffed the democratic temper that was taking roots in the Valley and other militancy infested area.
Kavinder Gupta announced that State BJP will organize a “Karyakarta Sammelan” of the workers on February 17 K.K Resorts, here to educate them about the burning issues and take them to people in length and breadth of the State.
