JAMMU, Feb 23: For exploring Jammu’s talent, 98.3 Mirchi along with Directorate of Tourism organised the biggest ever 3-day Open Mic event called ‘Mirchi Aao Milchey’ and invited people of all ages, from all over the city to come and be a part of this celebration at Bahu Ropeway Station near Bahu Fort here.
The host of the event Jammu’s most beloved RJ Jammu Di Kudi Mirchi Shwetima, the Fun Ka Badshah Mirchi Nishant and very own Desi Alexa Mirchi Nikki made sure that everyone present at the gathering were equally engaged and could cherish the music, art and celebration throughout the function for three consecutive days.
`Mirchi Aao Milchey’ not just provided Jammu’s youth a platform but became a medium for fun filled conversations and activities, including games, quizzes, on the spot dances, and other interactive sessions that made people of all ages participate actively.
The evenings became even more enthusiastic with various popular artists of Jammu being a part of it. The famous stand up comedian Shoka the cool guy – Mohit, the YouTube sensation Duggar Da Beta Kuldeep Hans left everyone in splits with their comedy acts. A laughter packed skit with the theme ‘Save Mother Tongue DOGRI’ by Team Career Counselling & Free Guiding Cell Gurha Slathian was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience. The event also included performances by Indian Idol fame Saptak Fusion band, Jammu’s local band Saanjh lead by vocalist Saharsh, performance by 15 years old percussionist Anirudh, a Kathak-Dogri fusion dance performance by 11 years old Aayti, heart touching singing performance by 15 years old Kunwar Langer and unlimited other performers. The event also featured soulful singing performances by Jammu’s popular singer and winner of Choona Hai Aasman & Finalist of Indian Idol Varsha Jamwal, popular Youtube Star Chetan Slathia and many others.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Naseem Javid Choudhary, Director Directorate of Tourism Jammu said, “Bringing youth to the forefront is the only way to ensure that our language, culture and tourism keeps flourishing. It makes me feel extremely happy when I see the young talent flooding social media with their posts of travel to local destinations, sharing talent across different platforms and promoting the new efforts of J&K Tousim like this Ropeway which is now open for public.”
Sumit Kakkar, Station Director, 98.3 Mirchi Jammu extended thanks to all the performers and participants as well as others for making the event a success. He also talked about how the Mirchi team plans to give the people experiences to remember and making sure that everyone in the city has something exciting.
