Mir likely to be new PCC (I) chief

JAMMU, Mar 1: Senior Congress leader, Ghulam Ahmed Mir is likely to be appointed as new chief of JKPCC (I).
Former Tourism Minister, Mir, would be replacing former Member of Parliament, Prof Saif-u-Din Soz, who had taken over the reins of party on February 13, 2008, after resignation of the then President Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed.
Reliable sources told EXCELSIOR few days back, Prof Soz had already submitted his resignation to the AICC President and had urged her to relieve him from the post.
“Party was inclined to hand over the reins of party to some young leader and therefore the choice fell on Mir”, sources pointed out adding, “an official announcement will be made shortly”.
G A Mir had also served two terms as Legislator from Dooru (2002, 2008).
