JAMMU, Apr 24: Minority Department of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), has alleged that minorities were being ignored by the Coalition Govt in the State.
In a meeting of the Minority Cell of the JKPCC held here at the Congress headquarters, under the leadership of Anil Thomas, vice chairman of Minority Department AICC ( as chief guest), the members criticized the present Govt for ignoring the concern of the minorities.
Gurdarshan Singh, vice chairman Minority Department said that the minority communities have always kept the Congress banner up in the dark period of the party. Further he said that adequate representation in every sphere of life especially in the Govt bodies and legislature should be given to them in order to work for the welfare of their respective communities.
Michael Wazir, State co-coordinator Minority Department put forward the demands in detail in front of Anil Thomas. Michael said that minority communities have full faith in the policies and program of the Congress. Nassir Massih chairman, Christian minority community expressed his views about the feeling of neglect by the previous Govt. He also assured AICC leader that all the minority community would work together under the guidance of Jahagir Mir chairman Minority department JKPCC in order to strengthen the Congress party in the State.
Anil Thomas stressed the need of missionary zeal to work for the upliftment of the minority communities. He said, “We all need to unite together to bring the Congress party back in power. All the demands and problems being faced by the minority communities will be soon put before the party high command, “ Thomas added.
