JAMMU, Apr 28: A minor girl was injured in an accidental fire at village Gho in tehsil Akhnoor.
“A seven-year-old girl identified as Anamika, daughter of Sanjay Kumar of village Gho, tehsil Akhnoor sustained injuries in her left arm when a .12 rifle of her father, she was fiddling with accidentally went off”, SHO Akhnoor Mahesh Sharma said.
Police said on hearing the gunshot, her parents and locals rushed to the spot and found the girl in pool of blood. She was immediately shifted to Sub District Hospital (SDH) and later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where she was responding to the treatment, when last reports came in, he added.
A case has been registered at Akhnoor police station and investigation started.
