MENDHAR, May 21: The leg of a minor girl was crushed by a speeding Tata Sumo in Mendhar area of district Poonch today.
Police identified the victim a 6-year-old Mahida Kouser, daughter of Mohd Shabir, resident of Gohlad in Mendhar. The girl was walking along the road side when rashly driven Tata Sumo No. JK-12/ 7985 ran over her near ITI. Her right leg was badly crushed under the vehicle.
The driver escaped from the spot while police seized the vehicle. A hunt for the driver was launched. The police has registered a case against him. The injured girl was rushed to SDH Mendhar and then referred to GMC & Hospital, Jammu.
