RAMBAN, July 15: A minor girl who attempted self-immolation at her residence in Failti Maitra area of this district, succumbed to his injuries.
A police spokesman said that 17-year-old Sauiya Bano, daughter of Mohammad Sharied Katoch, a resident of Failti Maitra set herself on fire after pouring kerosene oil on her body on July 12. She had some tiff with the family members.
She was shifted to District Hospital Ramban and later referred to Srinagar Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Ramban Police has taken cognizance in this regard and stated investigation to ascertain the reason behind such extreme step.
