JAMMU, Dec 3: Akhnoor police today recovered a minor girl allegedly kidnapped by a youth.
Police sources said that on December 1, a woman namely Kirpal Kour wife of Pritam Singh of Dhok Jagir (Sohal, tehsil Akhnoor) lodged a written complaint in police station Akhnoor wherein she alleged that her minor grand-daughter (living with her since her childhood) was kidnapped by a person namely Balkar Singh son of Daler Singh of Old Dewan Garh (Suchetgarh, Jammu) on November 27.
They said, accordingly, a case FIR number 228/2020 under 363/109 IPC was registered and investigation started. Subsequently, a special team was constituted under SHO police station Akhnoor Ravi Parihar for the search of kidnapped girl and arrest of accused.
“After hectic efforts, the kidnapped girl was recovered from the possession of accused Balkar Singh, who was taken into custody while the girl was handed over to her legal heirs after conducting all legal formalities,” sources said, adding, further investigation in the case is on.
