SAMBA, Feb 3: A minor girl was raped by a youth at Sogali in Ghagwal area of Samba district this evening.
According to police, a 25 year old youth identified as Ramesh Singh of Songali overpowered a 12 year old minor girl and outraged her modesty.
The girl also belonged to the same village. But her identity has not been disclosed.
The youth fled from the spot after committing the offense. The Ghagwal Police has registered a case and launched a manhunt to nab the youth. The police parties have been sent to different areas to arrest him said DySP Samba, V P Singh.
He said the girl was taken to District Hospital Samba for medical examination. The people of the area have strongly condemned the act and demanded immediate arrest of the culprit.
